Latest from Holland America Line

Holland America Line (HAL) has extended a “cruise pause” of all worldwide departures until 31 March next year.
HAL also will cancel select longer voyages – and cruises of eight days or longer – that call in the U.S.  until 1 November 2021.
In the meantime, the Seattle-based cruise line will continue to prepare and develop its plans to meet the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order issued by the United States Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Cruises impacted by the pause in operations are:
* All cruise departures from 1 January through 31 March 2021.
* Cruises of eight days or more that call at a US port through 1 November 2021.
* Select longer voyages in Asia, Australia/New Zealand and South America through mid-April 2021. Some departures will be rescheduled to comparable dates in 2022.
Australia/New Zealand guests booked on Oosterdam will be rebooked to similar dates and itineraries in 2022. Those booked on the ‘Voyage of the Vikings’ cruises, scheduled to depart 9 July 2021, aboard Zaandam, will move to a similar date in 2022.
HAL says guests and their travel agents are being notified of the cancellations and options for future cruise credits and rebooking. However, those who prefer a 100 per cent cash refund should indicate this by completing a ‘Cancelation Preferences Form’ no later than 31 December 2020.
The cruise line says it is now preparing ships and implementing procedures to meet all requirements for approval to sail following the pause – and says more details on a return to cruising will be announced as soon as possible.
HAL previously paused global cruise operations and cancelled departures on all ships through 31 December this year and select Hawaii and ‘Grand Voyage’ itineraries for early 2021.
