Celebrity Cruises to resume voyages to New Zealand in October
Someday is finally here!
Celebrity Cruises is ready to welcome guests back on board following today’s announcement from the New Zealand Government that cruising will resume in the country’s most iconic ports for the first time in over two years, from 11.59pm on 31 July, 2022. Celebrity Cruises will set sail from Sydney on 22 October for the 2022-23 season, with the award-winning Celebrity Eclipse making her debut in the region with a series of curated 3-to13-night itineraries across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Celebrity Cruises Vice President and Managing Director of Australia, New Zealand and APAC, Tim Jones described the New Zealand Government’s announcement as a significant moment, representing a return to normality for the cruise industry, travel and tourism, and New Zealanders who have been waiting for this day for more than two years. “We always knew that someday we would showcase the wonders of this region from our luxury ships once more. We’re thrilled that ‘someday’ has arrived - and soon, so will Celebrity Eclipse. We can’t wait to welcome everyone on board again come October,” Jones said. High Volume of Enquiries “People are ready to cruise again, with pent up demand reflected in the high volume of enquiries and bookings we’ve been taking in anticipation of the recent green light from the Government. We are also ready to cruise again, having successfully delivered cruise holidays around the world for almost a year. We look forward to doing our part in contributing to the nation’s economic future, with the long-awaited return of international travel and tourism.” The 2022-23 season on board Celebrity Eclipse, running from 22 October 2022 to 19 April 2023, has been uniquely curated to cater to the desires of modern travellers, including new onboard and shore-side experiences that focus on luxury and relaxation, destination immersion, and culinary exploration – the top travel drivers as shown through a recent state of the nation survey commissioned by Celebrity Cruises. “After a two-year wait, people know exactly what they want from their next escape, and it’s great to know Celebrity delivers on multiple travel desires in the one holiday. Luxury and wellness offerings are in exceptionally high demand showing that people are looking to treat themselves. Bookings for our most luxurious accommodations such as The Retreat, our exclusive resort-within-a-resort sanctuary for suite guests, have more than doubled over the past 12 months, and demand for our wellness-inspired suites in AquaClass has tripled,” explains Tim Jones. |
